The 10 steps to buying a home

Step 2: Find a Real Estate Agent

Step 3: Start Your Home Search

• Visit potential homes and compare features.

• Consider the neighborhood, schools, and commute.

Step 4: Make an Offer

• Work with your agent to draft a competitive offer.

• Negotiate terms such as price, contingencies, and closing date.

• Submit an earnest money deposit to show commitment.

Step 5: Get a Home Inspection

• Hire a licensed home inspector.

• Review the inspection report for potential issues.

• Negotiate repairs or price adjustments if necessary.

Step 6: Secure Financing & Get an Appraisal

• Work with your lender to finalize loan approval.

• The lender orders an appraisal to confirm the home’s value.
